Why it fits a gym or leisure centre

Most visits run from 45 minutes to a couple of hours, which is exactly how long a useful charge takes. A 7kW charger adds around 30 miles of range an hour; where members stay for shorter, higher-intensity sessions, a 22kW unit adds around 90.

Electric car drivers get into the habit of returning to places where they know they can plug in. Reliable charging gives members another reason to choose your site over a competitor, and to renew.

Once your charger is live we add the site to the apps drivers use to find somewhere to charge, including Zapmap, Google Maps and Apple Maps.

What EV Plus provides for gyms and leisure centres

We fund the chargers and the installation, so the club pays nothing up front. Installs are carried out to BS 7671 and we carry £5 million of public liability insurance. We run and maintain the units, and scale up as more members switch to electric. Most sites start with two to four bays.
