How it works

From your first enquiry to a working charger, here is what the process looks like.

   You get in touch

   Send us your company name and location, whether the car park is public-facing, and roughly how much space you could set aside. The apply for a charger form covers everything we need. There is no cost at this stage.

2. 2

   We assess the site

   We look at the location, the parking layout, how long your customers typically stay, and the electricity supply. We come back to you with what is possible and which chargers would suit: a 7kW unit for longer visits, or a 22kW unit where customers stay around an hour.

   We agree the arrangement

   In most cases we fund the chargers and the installation in full. On some sites we agree a revenue-share partnership instead. We set the terms out clearly before any work starts.

4. 4

   Installation

   We handle the electrical work and the groundworks, and install the chargers, usually as dual units so that two parking bays can use each one. Every install is carried out to BS 7671 and the EV charging codes of practice, and EV Plus carries £5 million of public liability insurance. We keep disruption to your site to a minimum and work around your opening hours where we can.

5. 5

   You go live on the maps

   Once the charger is commissioned we add your site to the apps drivers use to find somewhere to plug in, including Zapmap, Google Maps and Apple Maps. Drivers searching nearby can now see you.

6. 6

   We look after the chargers

   We operate and maintain the units. If a charger needs attention we deal with it. If demand at your site grows, we can install more charging points.
