EV charger costs and revenue share for host sites
Hosting an EV Plus charger costs you nothing. We reimburse the electricity the chargers use and share the charging revenue with you.
What it costs you
Nothing, at any stage. EV Plus pays for:
- the site assessment
- the chargers, electrical work, groundworks and installation
- insurance and regulatory compliance
- app listings and promotion
- 24/7 monitoring, maintenance and repairs
The chargers are ours, so you have nothing to buy and no ongoing responsibility for them.
Your electricity is reimbursed
The chargers run from your supply. Each one meters exactly what it uses, and we reimburse you for it, so hosting never leaves you out of pocket on your energy bill.
Revenue share
You get a share of the revenue from every charge. How big a share depends on what the installation costs:
Straightforward installation
Enough supply capacity and chargers close to it. You get a larger revenue share, plus your electricity reimbursed.
Site needing more investment
A supply upgrade, long cable run or heavy groundworks. We still fund it all, and the charging income recovers that cost, so there's a smaller revenue share. Your electricity is still reimbursed.
We confirm your share after the assessment, in writing, before any work starts.
What decides your terms
- Installation cost: the distance from supply to bays, the ground to cross, and any supply upgrade.
- Expected use: your location, visitor numbers, how long they stay, and nearby chargers.
- Chargers: 7kW or 22kW, and how many bays.
The value beyond the revenue
For most hosts the bigger return is the extra business. You appear on Zapmap, Google Maps and Apple Maps, drivers stay longer while they charge, and they come back to places they can rely on. See the benefits of offering car charging.
Common questions
Who sets the price drivers pay?
We do. Drivers pay EV Plus by contactless or app, so you never handle payments.
How and when am I paid?
On the schedule in your agreement, based on metered use.
Is there any cost if I change my mind?
No. The assessment and proposal are free, and there is no obligation until you sign.
